Richardson are very serious about sustainability. Throughout the company we strive to address the environmental, economic and social spheres of sustainability.
Richardson actively seeks methods of environmental improvement and diversity.
A key objective of our environmental policy, is to make efficient and environmentally responsible use of energy and water. Accredited with ISO9001 we aim to recycle as much as possible both on and off site. We donate leftover paint to colleges for apprentices to use as well as community projects, charity organisations and day care centres. Richardson is an authorised user of the Dulux Decorating Centres' Can Recycling Scheme. Other paint cans are recycled through manufacturers and decorator centres ensuring that no materials go to landfill.
Building relationships with clients is important to maximise value, minimise costs and waste. The way paint looks and behaves is constantly changing in accordance with strict legislation. We aim to reduce the negative damage to the environment by facilitating appropriate manufacturer specification and sample areas. We strive to ensure tribulations are dealt with promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Richardson has a commitment to developing staff potential through training.
We encourage young local people into the trade by offering apprenticeships. All RDC employees are CSCS qualified. Pursuant to our Health and Safety Policy all managers and supervisors are first aid trained. Whilst the core of our employees are based on the south coast an element of non–supervisory operatives will be resourced local to a given site as and when required. Diversity and Equal Opportunities are practiced throughout the company. Richardson encourages all employees to consider sustainability at home as well as in work.
